The Client and Their Brief
As we started to focus more on programming and Engine tools, we started working with a company called Spiderjar for graphical designs and models. We got a project to create marketing stage show app containing a globe and products made by Cobham.
The project needed to allow free rotational movement around the globe and restrictive rotation when viewing key points on a model, looking sci-fi enough to gain attention while having a simple enough UI to allow users to jump right in.
What We Did
We were working with SpiderJar who supplied the models, that said due to the quality and abundance of the models we had to go through and edit every model so that the project could run smoothly and efficiently. We used Unreal Engine 4 to setup the globe and it’s navigation, from there we added the models functionality to get everything working. UE4 Blueprints sped up the process and the material system allowed us to make everything as high quality as possible. We Used Adobe photoshop to optimize and edit textures which were used throughout the project in materials.

We utilized UE4 and its blueprint system along with its phenomenal graphical fidelity to develop an app which could be ran on multiple devices. Working with SpiderJar we used their models and designs to create the entire scene in UE4.
We created an app where you could navigate around a globe and interact with different products from land and sea to space, each product having multiple interactive points describing their components and marketing the Cobham product. Combined with optimising we got videos working on the globe that changed to match the selected element. Combined with particle effects and glow we managed to successfully create the theme.

The Result
We delivered an optimised build that can be ran on multiple devices, we also got to interact with SpiderJar to create a product meeting the specifications and exercising our skills in a variety of ways.
